I just had her on a dyno a few weeks ago it was $250 and it took about 1 1/2 hours for a full tune. The dyno guy charges $45 for a dyno run to see what #'s the bike is putting out. You might want to confirm what the $60 is for, a #'s run or per hour rate?

I imagine that dude that got the blower installed on his Glide and then had the tuner do 26 pulls, paid big bucks and then the tuner tells him that he can get 180HP out of an almost stock engine with a blower. Yep, money will buy you whatever you wanna hear!

It's a reasonable price for a dyno run. It is not a dyno tune though. So, chances are, it's a complete waste of your money. If you have the means and expertise to tune the bike then dyno runs have a great deal more value.

My dealer included 3 hours on the dyno when I did my big bore kit. I think they had it done in a little over 2.

My bike racked up nearly 125 miles on the dyno stand getting its' initial tune at the 1,000 mile mark. It is currently undergoing another tune to re-fine tune the beast at it's 5,000 mile check up.

Of course its worth it, what other way can you dial your engine right in. To get the maximum performance out of it, after spending all that money on upgrades. You dont just want to guess if its running at maximum efficiency. Had 3 pulls on dyno after 95" build, each pull taking about 15 min. All done in 45 min. thats about all it should take, and thats a carb. In my case, the dyno runs are included in your engine build.

One of the best around is Doc down in Florida and he takes several hours to get it just right. Another excellent tuner is Jody at Tilley H-D north of Charlotte and he takes all day and has been known to keep it for part of a second day. Unless it just falls into place for some reason, I would be suspicious of someone doing a "good" tune in only a couple of hours.

If your builder knows what hes doing, thats all it should take. An hour at the most, i think you should be suspicious.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
