So. California Weather is Awesome

Old Downtown Ventura is still pretty cool. We were just there the other weekend (cruised the 87' Corvette that never seems to end any of it's problems...). I have a coworker that grew up there as well. Musta been nice! I'd bet the toughest part of moving to the Northwest is convincing everybody you know that you're not like the rest of the SoCal crowd they've met!

Now this was funny!

Take it from me, SoCal is a $hithole. Unless you live in Ventura County, rural San Diego or an exclusive neighborhood like San Marino or La Canada, So Cal seriously sucks. While the weather may be nice, the whole freeway system in the Los Angeles area is a test of patience. It takes hours to get anywhere across the city. You may go from the snow to the beach on the same day, but you'll be sitting on the packed freeway for most of it. Add the crazed drivers and illegals without licenses (50% of the accidents here are hit-and-runs). We're suffering from 'Angry Hamster' syndrome (when you pack a hundred hamsters in a ten-gallon aquarium, watch what happens, they'll soon be shredding each other).
If it wasn't for 20 years in the last real industry California has, (Aerospace) I would've bailed long ago. Most of the retirees where I work bail out of here immediately. You've never seen a more narcissistic, self-centered bunch of a-holes as this state. We're also overrun with illegals and people getting a free ride on the system, though the system is now broken and they don't have the money anymore.
It ain't the paradise it used to be (I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in the early 70's)!
