Default Check out the Harley Shortster!

I never knew Harley made these mini-bikes. Too cool! If they still made the Shortster I'd have to go get one for my son. Neat!

They were around back in the mid 70's. Aermacchi (sp?) in Italy made them and H-D imported them, along with several other sized two strokes, and the 350cc Sprint 4 stroke. I owned several of them while growing up, but never the Shortster.

I have been thinking about buying one of the sprint 250 or 350 and restoring it.

One of my favorite Harley ads of all time is for the Shortster. They had it parked next to a big puddle. The reflection in the puddle was a Sportster. Very cool. Of course this was in the days when a Sportster was king of the street, fit for recently discharged paratroops and recently released felons. It has since morphed into an entry level bike for middle aged women to learn to ride on. Amazing how much evolution has happened in the species in 40 years.

If my memory is right there was a sportster model called a shortster in the 70,s,whole thing was lowered from the factory 2''for those who are vertically challenged,it was listed in sportster manuals,I think it lasted into the early 80,s.

I had a 250cc Benelli Harley, they used to be called scrablers.

It was real good for ditchin cops

Those are really cool. I had a Binelli 80cc growing up - one of those Harley's sure would have been neat. Can you buy them still? Do they still make Minibikes? I would love to get my Daughter one.

Pretty cool and I had not seen those before, but it looks like my old Honda mini-trail 50! Maybe if I had bought one of these instead of the mini-trail I would have made my way to the big HD's sooner instead of metrics frst!
