Default Mesa, Arizona

Hey I know there are a lot of Arizona folks here and I have a question for you.

I have to attend a business conference the middle of March in Mesa and the wife wants to come along.

We have never been in Arizona before and would like to stay over a couple of days and rent a Harley and do some site seeing.

Just wondering what we can expect weather wise that time of year and if there are some good places to ride to in the Mesa area.

I have not checked a map yet, is it anywhere close to Tombstone?

Thanks

hey dock, it will be perfect riding temps in march. right now its been 70 in the day and 40's at night. tombstone is kinda far if your only going to be around for a short time. i highly recommend going out to canyon lake while your in mesa. its just east of apache junction on I-88/Idaho Rd, and its an awesome ride through the canyons. there are several dealers close by to rent bikes from. hope you have fun when your here! i came for a visit myself, and never went back!

Lots of dealers in the valley, but for Mesa specifically you're looking at Chester's and Superstition HD. Both have rentals. Definitely head up to Canyon Lake/Tortilla Flats. Tombstone isn't close, but it's south so you could ride there. It get's cold quickly as you head north into the mountains from Phoenix. Another great ride is Sedona just south of Flagstaff, but I haven't been up there since before Xmas so I'm not sure what the weather conditions are. If you go there be sure to skirt around the 101/I-17 intersection--lots of construction.

Here is some reading before you leave (scroll about half way down for the shorter day runs).

Looks like we will be at the Phoenix Marriott Mesa.

Which dealership is the closest to the hotel anyone know?

Chester's is on Country Club Dr. so it is right around the corner. You really need to visit Superstition, too. It's not far.
