Yep. Jan 6, 1999, I rode my first Harley off the lot. A 98 sporty with 182 miles on the clock.

Traded it in 4 months for a 93 FXDL. Rode that for 2 years, put 22000 miles on it, then traded that for a T Sport. The T Sport lasted about 8 months, traded it for a Road King, then traded that Road King for an 03 RK Classic. To be fair, I kept the RKC for about 5 and 1/2 years, then traded it for an 08 FXSTC, my current ride.

So, for the first time in 3 weeks, I took the bike out. Been busting hump over the holidays, trying to get some bills paid off and get some home improvement projects done. Stopping to think about how much I'd have in the bank if I never got on a bike, or if I'd even be alive right now, as the bike has saved me from a life of total boredom, and isolation.

You know that commercial about the guy with the aluminum siding? That ain't me. It's had it's ups and downs, but all in all, I wouldn't trade the time I spent in the saddle for anything in this world. Hoping to post again in another 10 years, to mark 20.

Happy Riding!

You've got me by 3 years Sporty! I started on a mini-bike I built in 1960, traded it for a wrecked Sears moped fixed it up and got a Harley 165cc hummer, kept it till I went into the army owned about every make since then till 1975 when I went to Harley for good. Hell of a ride, 49 years in the saddle. Hope we both have a lot more ridin time.

Hope we all do. This time, I amy keep this one for good. Doesn't mean I'll never get another. But, I''d like to think I'll have this bike in 20 years, and still be able to ride it.

Ten yrs ago, Feb., flew to Tuscon to pick up the chopper. Hauled 'im home in a Ryder rental truck. Fun road trip.
Momma's 'first' FLASH. She flashed a train in New Mexico. And I've been steering her to the 'darkside' ever since.

43 yrs 'road' riding, this year. Few before that on minis, dirt, salvaged, and pieced.
I'd like to say they were ALL fun yrs, but I don't remember them ALL. Maybe that's a 'good' thang.
