I made the trade and I’m not sorry that I did. I agree that the Street Bob rides like a Cadillac compared to the Sportster. I had a Nightster – so, I had probably the roughest Sportster tho.

I love the feel of the Dyna out on the highway….I think the added weight really helps the ride and battles with the wind. That motor pulls so strong too out on the highway. I’ve posted this 1,000 times since I traded, but I always felt like the Sportster was trying too hard in fourth gear at highway speed (maybe cuz of those cams being so loud?) and it didn’t like fifth gear until about 65. It seemed like I really had to work at getting it to cruise nice. So far, I my Big Twin has been nothing but a joy out on the highway. It seems so much quieter that I can’t tell if I’m in fourth or fifth and that sixth gear just makes it purr!

Don’t be a dumbass like I was and sit on it in your driveway drinking beer listening to your new pipes! My drunk *** let mine lay over and now I’ve got a scratched primary! LOL It is a bit more of a bike to wrangle, but nothing too bad.

Can't speak from experience since I've never ridden a Sportster but I say go for it.

I've had my Street Bob since May and absolutely love it.

Like RiverWolf I had to get forwards on mine just couldn't get my feet up on the pegs without major discomfort but since you've already ridden with mid's on the Sportster you should have no problem at all with the mid's on the Street Bob.

Traded my 1200 Nightstser for a Street Bob. Was petrified riding it out of the dealer lot, and was totally in love by the end of the 36 mile ride home. Much more comfortable, and I feel more confident on it. I swear it handles better than the Nightster. I'm short (not quite 5'-4"), and was concerned about going to a bigger bike, but am so glad I did and the Street Bob is a bike I'll keep for a long time, I am sure! Go for it!

Love my Street Bob, Bought it in September, and I couldnt have seen myself getting another bike..Its not too heavy and pretty well balanced, which is why I love it..Never had a sportster but my friends wife sat on mine and Instantly loved it..You'll be happy with it

As much as I enjoyed my 883, there was a world of difference with my 07 Street Bob.
Better ride, center of gravity, comfort and ease of handling.
Do it! You won't be sorry.

Now I'm the kind of guy who honestly believes that there are no such things as stupid questions.
But I gotta tell you that one comes about as close to one as I have ever seen.

Don't wait around reading this, just go out and DO IT!!!!!!

Personally I would rather have the Fatbob, but its your money and your choice to make, so when are you getting the new ride?
