i have been riding my street bob for almost a year now and when i see harley riders wearing tough looking leather vest/jacket with skulls, bones, flames and what have you on it, i wonder what does it mean? are they trying to look like hells angels? whats behind this tradition? just wondering...let's hear it from the hd community...

Why does anyone wear skulls and flames? I see people who don't own Harley's-much less any motorcycle-wearing them too. They do it because they like them!

I don't wear skulls, and wouldn't put any skull emblems on anything I own, because I dont' like them. It's as simple as that sometimes.

Perhaps this is more to your liking? Just kidding, I put skulls on my night train because I caught loads of **** for the pink tassles I had dangling from the handlebars. They were very pretty cruising at 80 mph though.

 

I've been told by some old timers that it goes back to the days after WWII when vets needing more adrenaline rush than civilian life provided took up riding and the skulls, etc, were emblems of their fearlessness(?)

Personally, I like flames but don't care for the skulls...
