Goes without saying, but...new valve stems too. Right time and the cost is cheap; but a PITA if they do go south. Not even worth the discussion, IMO.

Yes. The "rubber," (butyl) ages and hardens as does the tire. Tubes are cheap insurance.

$.02

Uhhhh, the tubes I buy have them thar thingys alreddy tatched. We buy ours thru Dennis Jerk. Ain't never had ta glue an old one on. Kinda messy, ain't it?????

SORRY, folks, just couldn't let it lay there.

I run about 16-18#'s in the back tar on the chopper. That causes the tube to sqwish and sqwash (are those words??? ) 'round inside the tar. Works just like sandpaper on the tube. I run the softest tire I can find, Cheng Shin Marquis. It's my only go and stop rubber. As such, it wears FAST, but the tube is too, so they both need changin' at the same time. Put a new one on over winter. And then one right before, Sturgis.
For the $, not sure I'd skip the tube. But Lord knows I've done it WAY more than once. Again, $$$

Yes. To not change the tubes is foolish IMO.
