car tire on a harley
The stock rear tire for the 07 street bob is 160/70/17 which last between 5000-10000 miles.
Iv chec.ked on the smallest 17" tire they make and found it to be the 205/50/17. according to specs the tires are almost the same height.the 205 is about 1 1/2 inches wider than the stock harley tire. my thinking is the 205 being low profile would pull in on each side of the stock rim and not be a problem. im also thinking it should get 20,000 miles or better.
has anyone ever done this. i tryed this on honda vtx 1800 and it worked great.i have spoke rims and also wonder if the stock tube would work.any input from someone whos done this would help

I have heard of putting car tires on bikes but I don't know anything about it. But I would like to know something. Where the tread is flat wouldn't it make cornering harder or just plane scary.

I'm thinking that if you've already done this on another bike as you claim, you already know the answer.
My personal opinion is that unless you're riding a show chopper a couple of blocks, car tire on bike that is actually ridden, is a bad idea.... different construction, different usage model... just my opinion.

I've got 2 co-workers running car tires. One with a VTX and another with a Vulcan 2k. They both said corning takes a bit of getting used to, but the tire still rolls over to where the tread is still flat on the pavement. BTW, they both LOVE the car tire!

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
I would like to see these guys take a corner in the rain.
Also from the video it looks like when they turn they are leaning up on the sidewall of the tire. Which will decrease the tire life down to less than that of a motorcycle tire.
Just remember, its all fun and games until someone goes through a barbwire fence!
