The only thing I see wrong with the memo is that they (MC’s) prefer to be called a club, and not a gang.

ok..... for all you A-holes who bashed me, let me give you some insight as to why I posted this...

and YES I'm serious..... I was pissed (not because of the procedure) but because of the fact that they felt it necessary to conduct a road-stop in the first place... that is the part of this whole thing that is discriminatory...

now... if there had been an incident, and you were forcing everyone to leave the scene, then the guarded exit could have these circumstances and procedures set up... but why else?

it's called HARASSMEN!

and I have felt it numerous times, being stereo-typed into situations and groups... it just ticks me off that you can't get a group of your buddies and ride to an event without being thought of and treated like an outlaw biker gang...

now you tell me if you and you buddies were out riding to those same events, how would you feel about having to go thru that "screening"???

I see most of the people that answered in a negative way against me were ex-LEO... that's to be expected.... but how do the normal law-abiding citizens feel?

sorry, I don't like cops, never have... have always been harassed by them, and they've never been there when I needed them.

In my town, they'd rather write speeding tickets on the outskirts of town, than patrol the bad sections of downtown.[]

If you don't respect someone you should not expect it from them... as far as needing them just dial 911 they'll be there... if you have a bad attitude because you don't like cops, you'll be treated fairly but with little or no respect...

With the things that have gone on recently with the bike gangs can you blame LEO's for "screening"? I don't blame them. Better safe than sorry as far as I see.
I would rather deal with the minor inconvienence and be safe.

It is the political correctness factor you are bringing up here and it is ruining America. You can't be telling me that with recent events....people getting shot right off their bikes on the highway, big brawls in public....etc....that you are seriously surprised that bikers are getting looked at more closely.

You ride a Harley, you're in a big group, you have your german helmet and you leathers on....you look the part. Walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...Maybe the cops should check and see if is a duck. If it isn't you aren't any worse off. You weren't harrassed. They were just doing their jobs. If they walked up to you for no reason with guns drawn and cominced to beating you all one by one for nothing....then you have a case.

Again...I'd rather be held up for a minute then have cops not paying attention to current issues in the biker community.

As far as cops never being there when you need them. I'm sorry about that. Not anything I can do about it. All I can say is that you may not like them and they may never have helped you in the past....but you will change you tune if they ever save your ***.

Like I said before..people hate us until they need us.

Just guessing, but if I was a betting man I'd say that your probably just a want-to-be. Those that you claim to be protesting for are probably reading your post and laughing at you.

if this isn't discrimination, I don't know what is
its not discrmination its the same as racial profiling

Boy, if I am in trouble, I would sure rather call a cop than a 1%. In my time, I've run across jerks who were L/E, but show me any profession that you don't find jerks. I have ridden with some LEOS, got drunk with some and had my *** kicked by some, but 99% are good guys and girls who have a tough job and don't get paid worth a crap for doing it.

You're right....LEO's should pay no extra attention to arabs in the airport, young black men wearing gang colors, big white dudes on Harleys with 1% patched on them some where, and known child molesters who move into your neighborhood.

We wouldn't want anyone's feelings to get hurt know would we?

Hell, what do I know? I guess cops should worry less about crime and using what they know to figure out who is most likely to start trouble...and worry more about the people's emotional well-being.

Personally, I have nothing against you. I consider myself to be a normal law abiding citizen. I'm not currently or ever have been a LEO. Cops catch criminals, thats what my tax money pays them to do. I want them to catch as many of them as possible. Gangs and MC that support and carry out criminal activity (i.e. drug mfg. & dist., prostitution, stolen property, etc.) are a burden for guys like me and society in general. You asked how the normal citizen feels? My reply is the sooner the legal system can shed the skin of political correctness and allow the LEO's to bust all these thugs the better off society and me will be.
