Sears red jack

Sears red jack
I have had the Sears red motorcycle jack for 1 year.It has worked fine until today.I am in the process of moving to a new house,so I went to put the jack on the moving truck. It won't go down.It was about an inch up,and then all of a sudden it flipped fully open. The pin came out of the piston. Now I can't get it to go down.It is stuck wide open.Anyone know how to fix this thing,or is it junk like everyone says? Thanks for any help.

Mine does the same thing when I lift it by the upper frame rails. It kind of jumps out of track and stays in an upright position. Easy fix. Lift up on the upper portion and reinstall the part which came out of position.

So let's get this right, my jack is junk because it is not a J&S. My motor is going to wear out because I don't use Amsoil. My motor isn't any good because it isn't a HQ build. My tires aren't any good because they are Dunlaps. I have a unsafe bike because I don't have a stabilizer, specifically a True-Track. ETC....ETC....ETC.... This owning a Harley thing is getting just a little difficult.

There's a line between does the job and doesn't. Your red jack with the broken piston no longer does the job. That problem is common to the red jack and the yellow jack is far more durable. I believe the most common complaint with the yellow jack is setting the bike down gently. I believe the J&S does a better job of easing the bike down.
