Default Hauling bike on a trailer??

I plan on hauling my bike some on a small open trailer behind my 5th wheel camper. But I'm a little worried during rain and bad weather, looks like the road spray from my camper/truck and other vehicles would get my bike real nasty quick.

Anyone done this before and have any ideas?? I would think a cover would whip on the paint too much?? How about a "protective" front peice on the trailer?? Kinda of like a small 2 foot cap to protect the bike???

I have hauled a bike in an open trailer before, and if the weather is wet, it will get nasty. It seems like it is really worse than riding in bad weather. If you are going to do much of this you might want to consider a small enclosed trailer.

Regards,

Bill

My buddy mounted a small triangular fiberglass dock box on the front of his open trailer to block road debris. Seems to help but still not as good as an enclosed trailer.

i cut a car dolly in half, extended it 10 ft, built a aluminum box on the front, now i can haul my bike and my wifes car behind my motorhome. im not saying to buy a dolly but an alluminum box is not hard to make. with a little enginerring, you can make it removable, so you can use the trailer for other things. im going to post some pictures soon.

I would try to get a wind breaker from an old semi truck or box van and adapt it to the trailer. I wouldnt think it would be hard to find.

I would definitely try and swing a small enclosed trailer, even if you have to rent it. Hauling with an open trailer is REALLY tough on your bike...

There are trailer covers for motorcycles: www.motorcyclecarrier.net/motorcycle_cover.html
Still seem kind of expensive though.

Have you ever thought of strapping a tent on the back and riding it? I believe that's what they're for

And as for getting wet, its only water....its what ya wash it with anyway.
