check out when this started......... hehe
Rick, This has to be the funniest post I have ever read. It's so easy to get people all worked up and you do it with such skill. Had you not made the date reference, I wonder how far this thread would have gone?

In NM, as long as the second vehicle has brakesit then becomesa length limit of I believe 55 feet. I could be wrong on the exact length. Pretty common here to see it though.

Trade the fifth wheel trailer for a toyhauler, then you can camp and have your bike safe and clean when you get to where you are going.

Both trailers open and closed have advantages. Have done both, the plus with the open is that you can see the bike should it shift instead of having a surprise when you open that door and either find it down or rubbing the walls or straps inside.

I to will be hauling my bike. I will be loading mine in the back of my truck, then pulling a 30 ft. camper. I have a question about tying down the bike. I was told that I should compress my front forks down all the way to avoid having the bike move up and down. Is this true? I have very little room and any movement could cause the front fender to rub against the rear of my cab.

the advice I got was 2/3 of the way..... that way the bike has some shock action.

You can use blue painters tape on the forks and then tie it down and will know the fork travel, measure distance and place the tape. Depending on type of fork, (ie.Dressers) you can leave the tape on and it will go under the dust cover, it gives you a quick reference to see if the straps are loosening.
