Heritage vs. Road King
#71
I'd say it really depends on you primary riding. I have both, heritage and a decker, and I love them both, but I use them totally differently and wouldn't even compare.
The decker is a pain in the a$$ for me in a city, and the heritage is more tiring on long highway runs. So, city bike = heritage, touring = decker.
Nothing surprising, that's what they were made for

I have to disagree with this. If you spend the money for a real custom seat (Russell day long, bill Mayer, diamondseats.com), you can get an equally comfortable seat for any Harley. The first thing I get for any new bike is a good custom seat.

Love my Heritage, But i think bikes are very personal to each of us for our comfort. My wife rides a sporty and loves it. We done 1450 miles this weekens and we feel fine so test ride the bikes and get the one for you. I will say that when she rides with me on the back after a while she gets uncomfy and i have the upgraded pillion and backrest.

Have you ever seen a cruise controal on a
soft tail. I love touching the cruise button,
and taking my hand off the grip and letting
my sleeping throttle hand wake up. I don't
worry about speeding tickets because I
don't speed going down a steep hill like I did
with a throttle lock screw on my dyna.
One more thing, look at the counter weights
that balance the balanced engines it takes more
torque to get them turning and more horse power
to keek them turning. The road king dont have
them counter weights to have to dadgum deal with
There is my $0.02 worth but the main thing is be
happy and dont worry about mama she will love you
no mattewr what you ride

Time to add my $0.02 worth... get a Road King. Or, get a Heritage. But, if you are having trouble making up your mind, then get a Road King. Then you have to decide which Road King - FLHRC or FLHR. Then there's the color (hint: pick Black it's the fastest color). After this exhausting ordeal, you will be faced with the dreaded "Need to Add Bling" and/or otherwise accessorize the bike to "make it yours" (as if it isn't already yours - you paid for it) - Stage 1 through {pick number}, cup holders, GPS mounts, the list is endless (unlike your bank account). I presume you have already taken care of the ATGATT issues and are suitable attired in the latest chaps/overpants/fingerless gloves/modular - 1/2 helmets, etc.
If not, then you'll appreciate my advice. Get a Road King. You can't go wrong. Or get a Heritage. You still can't go wrong. Ride safe whatever your decision.
