all this talk got me wondering.
here is what i did.
double sheet of 1/4 inch plywood on the floor
cover with cover from walmart
40 watt bulb under neath
there is a roof vent in the garage.
was gone over xmas so i haven't been in the garage yet.
so i have some questions.
1. is 40 watt (there are 2 bikes next to each other) under each good.
2. should i have put down plastic under the plywood.
3. should i put a small fan in the garage.
all of the above are small changes that if good i would do in a heartbeat.
let me know

mnpgrider I have had this dew thang growing up in florida the chrome will rust only if crap chrome to begin with. My old classic car i had did not rust and it got moved or road less than the bike. You use a good wax once a year. Its still just a bike. geeesss.25,000 dollar bike/trailer queen. or a 500 dollar bike, if its that much of a problem make a place for the bike, car or lawn mower thats worth while or put it in your darn house or sell it. **** dam riders. mine is in a uninsulated garage, ooohhh nnnooo. and has been for years.
Dude. You're setting yourself up to be more evil than me! People don't want to hear that! What? Ride it? No,No,No - I just polish it and show it off on weekends! Moisture = BAD! Good luck man. That attitude will bring out all the onery rubes!

Ok, I'm no engineer but I did dabble in the Garage Flooring business for a while.
Problem is, is that moisture eminates (is drawn up) up to warm surface (your garage floor) and condensation occurs.
This generally happens in wild temperature swings.
This is why a vapor barrier beneath the concrete is pretty essential in all cases.
So, get a 6mil thick poly sheet or thicker and lay under your bike say a couple feet around it. Use a ceiling fan to circulate and also keep warm air down. I have a ceiling fan I use 12 months of the year works likes a charm, warm in winter( I low heat the garage at around 60 deg.) and cool in summer.
I used to represent a company from Kansas called BLT LLC., they make a garage flooring product in roll form. If not mistaken you can pick up one of these at Costco/Sams Club. I believe a small size version is 5 ft x 10 ft. around 2 bills.
Good Luck.
