UPDATED - How To: Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's)
#43
Awesome information, thank you!!
I just ran the internal diagnostics test myself and cleared all of the following errors:
P1009 - Incorrect Password
P1511 - Throttle actuator control power management failure of throttle control actuator
P2135 - Correlation Error
B1121(TSM) - Left turn output fault
B1121(HFSM) - Left turn output open
B1122 (TSM) - Right turn output fault
B1122 (HFSM) - Right turn output open
The part #'s associated the error codes were as follows:
Pn - 32933-09
Pn - 68920-07
I will assume that since I've cleared all of the error codes, I'm good? I will re-check them once I ride again and the limp mode occurrence I am experiencing is intermittent so I'll see what happens while riding.

When I follow the procedure for entering the diagnostic mode, nothing happens. I read the entire original post, and I have an 06 RKC, so it's not just that I'm using the procedure for the wrong year bike. I have no speedo, no odo, and no speedo backlight. Also, I have no turn signals. Seems like I have a bad VSS. I've pulled, cleaned, and reinstalled it, with no change. Looks like I probably need to replace the VSS. The bigger issue right now is that I'd like to be able to run the diagnostic mode. If I press the odo reset button, the odo, with correct mileage, comes up for 5 seconds, then dissapears. If I hold the button, the odo comes up until 5 seconds after I release it. I read through all the responses and no one mentions this particular problem. Anyone ever run into this? Any suggestions? I HATE going to the dealer, especially if it turns out I'm just an idiot that's missing something stupid.

***UPDATE***
Kept reading these and other threads. Found some guys with similar problems. Replaced the Acc fuse and all is fixed. Speedo/odo/turn signals work. DTC works. Only codes were U1097 and U1255. Neither one is surprising or concerning since the issue I was having involved the speedo. Hopefully, it was a one time thing, not a short that is going to continue to pop up.
