Yes the Harley was at fault of course (not!), nothing to do with the fact that the pedestrian was running accross the traffic lanes and failing to yield to approaching vehicles. Peds dont have any right of way until it's clear to cross and safe to do so. A trajedy needless to say. Hope the rider recovers quickly and the family of the victim have my prayers and thoughts.

yeah you can't fault the rider for that but in some countries, especially if you're an American, you'd better be prepared to make ammends to the family in the way of cash.

The rider might be screwed, in CA. the pedestrian has the "right of way".

A couple of weeks ago an 85 yr old made a illegal U turn killing a Husband & Wife on a Harley. Last I herd the accident was under investigation, WTF she was wrong and killed two people. But because she herself is a near dead will most likely get very little for this if any, After all you know they were just BIKERS.

Now a week later a pedestrian was killed by a BIKER after the pedestrian was crossing the street in the middle of the block (J walking), And now they are looking into charging the biker.
This all took place here in Phoenix, AZ

For some reason this happens a lot in San Diego County. Most pedestrians hit and injured or killed seem to be of Hispanic descent. And it is illegal to cross a street unless you are at an intersection. You can be ticketed for jaywalking. Pedestrian at fault even in California. The road he crossed is three lanes in each direction with a marked center turning lane. Speed limit 45 to 50 mph. And the traffic at quitting time acts like they're in a Nascar race. Stupid hurts. Obey some simple traffic laws and life will be much better.

Stupidity could solve the "Illegal Immigration" problem. If the economy doesn't.

My "brother" Jinx was at an intersection stopped. When the light turned green, the SUV behind him gunned it, running him over. The driver then tried to fee the scene, not realizing the bike was still jammed underneath the bike, and drug him another 150 feet. Story ends with him being dead, and the driver of the SUV not charged. Where I live, bikers really don't have rights, especially not the right to live.
