This is true but there are limitations to that pedestrian right of way. Running out in the street does not give the pedestrian a right of way nor does the law imply that it would. Laws are based on a "reasonable person" and a reasonable person knows that if it is not safe to proceed across any busy street including that of the signalized intersection with a crosswalk then it is likely that pedestrian will be injured. In this case it would appear the pedestrian had a death wish and the Harley simply gave him what he wanted.

Default Death by Motorcycle

Miramar Blvd is crazy with traffic at 5pm. Anybody who tries to cross it especially in that area and not at a stoplight is a few french fries short of a happy meal. Hope the biker heals quickly and the family of the deceased understands why he is dead even though there will be emotional pain.

wow that area is having bad luck lately, a few weeks ago an F 18, and now a motorcycle.

On a more serious note, I hope the rider is ok.

Well did you read the rest of the stories below this one, seems Darwin is well at work out there, sad that some of the award winners are taking others with them. Hope this guy is okay, suprised nobody inquired about the bike. As far as bailing out Kalifornia, I say F' em, they spent this money giving illegals every aid and benefit they could, obstruct the federal government at every turn (when they actually try to do something), have a complete freak show in the bay area, boo service members in the airport or not even allow them to land, spend more money on their state government than Japans economy. Now they want my money, or more likely my great grand kids money, F'em. Sorry about the rider, all you good folks get out of the abortion of a state as soon as you can.

Oh same goes for NYC
