Default OK, I'm man enough to admit it, I'm nervous to..

actually use the damn Craftsman Jack I just bought at Sears.

I brought it home after getting several tips on how to use it at the store.

Pulled it out of the box and tried it again, worked fine.

Put my slowblower on it and practiced, No problem.

But I can't bring myself to jack up my 670lb, $26,000 thing of beauty.

Am I just being a damn wimp? And suggestions?

I know I'll finally just do it, but damn this is hard!

Just go out there and jack you bike up. I put my wife car next to the bike to help break the fall!

Just strap it down and go for it! Mine was on a lift all winter long. Easier to move around the garage while ya got her up to.

TM, where do you put the straps? Handlebars or the frame?

I've posted this in the touring forum several times. I had been using this particular device (see pic) on my FLSTF since '97 and love it. You can completely disassemble the front or rear end and it is rock solid. Lifts bike safely in about 10 seconds. I have never needed to have both wheels off the ground at the same time, but to each his own. Anyway, my girlfriend bought me the red Craftsman jack for my '06 FLTRI.
Tried it once (with her) and we agreed, it sucks. Back it went.
Bought another one of these for the bagger. http://www.cyclelifts.com/

That is the only thing I will do alittle different, use better straps depending on the work I am doing. the WG is not easy to get on the jack because of this damn metal cover comes down low on the right side.

First off you need to lift it before you strap it down.I put one over the seat & the other over the tank.I also put a 100% cotton towel between the tank & the strap,as well as the seat & the strap.

I jack mine up to peform work ONLY. My issue isnt really the jack but my shop has a plywood floor. There is a slight wobble to it when the bike os on the jack. I plan to add some more bracing under the floor this summer and that might help but for now Ill just use the jack for lifting not rotating or moving the bike.

Will this work on the Dynas? I know you need to get the special blocks for the Sears lift to work right on the Dyna models.
