oil temp vs pressure?

I am not a scientist...nor do I play one ne TV....
but I live and ride in Florida. Makes no difference when or where from
when you ride to Key West. If you are riding from FAR AWAY....change your oil
before a LONG trip. If you have an oil pressure gauge...and it shows you have
oil pressure, that is GOOD. I had one of those 'in the engine oil temp gauges'
(before it disintigrated upon removing it) and it never showed higher than 240 degrees.
Change your oil and ride.

If you get the HD oil pressure kit do yourself a favor and get the Russell braided oil pressure line P/N 1204-8407
It looks a lot better than the black plastic HD line, and the connection to the engine case is nicer as well.

Amen to that....My Pan sheared the pump key twice in one month. First time it was warming up in the garage (no one out there with it) total disaster, second was going down the road, not as bad but still had to bore. The key is Pressure, Pressure, Pressure.
