Default Ipod installed, music in helmet!!!

I hooked up some nice sony slip on headphones inside my helmet(yeah i actually wear a full face most of the time) and they sound great. Tested em out last night and I can hear em perfectly at 65 on the freeway with my helmet wide open. YEs...it's been a while. I now need a bar mounted ipod holder, becuase the cliker is impossible to use while riding, especially with gloves. Is there such a thing, or should i make my own? I am finally beginning to catch up with technology. Phew. Music makes everything better. Now i am waiting for my wifes headphones to arrive so I can do hers up. Oh and another thing, my bike is really really loud. I dont know what kinda exhaust it is, but cars split for me like the red sea did for moses. I guess I could do this in a 3/4 helmet to, but those 1/2 helmets dont really cover my ears. I guesss just regular headphones while wearing my halfie when im feeling brave. Woo Hoo!

Can you hear anything around you when you have them on? Seems dangerous.

I use my normal earphone when on long trips... I can hear the music and the stuff around me. No problems whatsoever.

Hey Andrew,

Check this link to see what I did to mount my Nano. https://www.hdforums.com/m_378041/mp.../tm.htm#378041

Yours will just have the wires running back to your earphones instead of to a stereo.

I can toggle readily while riding with a gloved finger. You might want to put yours on your clutch side, it will be easier to reach. I have mine on the throttle side only because I had to run the connection to my radio.

Feel free to PM if something doesn't make sense.

If you have a standard Ipod with a hard drive, you might want to think about carrying it in your pocket. I have a Dell that I mounted to the bars, and the first railroad tracks the hard drive jarred so bad I had to raplace the unit. The ipod remote is wireless, and push buttons, not that 'wheelie thingie'.

If you got a nano, they don't make a wireless remote yet.

I use the Koss noise cancelling ear buds. Work great at speed, but you can hear sirens, horns, and someone yelling if they are close.

Heres one kuryakyn ecaddy

I've tried riding with just the earplugs under my arai open face. While it does work, I have to have the volume so loud it hurts my ears, and I also suffer from wrong gear paranoia when I can't hear the engine.

Only reiterating it because it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO important!!!!!!

Your IPOD standard has a HARD DRIVE!!!!!!

Like putting your laptop on a bike ride with you! If you shake it up too much your hard drive MIGHT stall and fixing it is almost as much as a new unit. Just don't want you to make a $300 mistake!!

Good luck and THINK ABOUT THIS!!!!!
