Dealers are of course throwing out various discounts and Santa programs as normal around here currently.

Question is, with the bad economy and sales generally slow, anyone close to their dealer hear that the discounts might really come out after the Holidays? Gave momma the "list" but might get more local bang-for-buck letting her take the easy way out of a gift card?

 

I've been waiting for the local dealer to have a parts sale, but they never seem to have one.

Fremont HD has a big open house sale on their shiny stuff this weekend.
Might check it out but doubt it.

 

I'm waiting for mid-January. My dealer is having a 25% off party for anyone that bought a new bike in 2008. I have a clean credit card just waiting. Muaahaahaaa!!

 

All the local dealers around here are offering various sales over the Christmas season, and all are basically the same; 15% off. Nothing special since we can get 15% off all year round via the net.
What gets me is that the MoCo isn't doing anything to inspire sales. Low interest rates, cash off, something.
It isn't worth trading a bike in cause they won't give you anything close to real value. Harley and the dealers must be hurting plenty this season.

 

Same here (15% sales). One dealer had a 22.5% day, should have planned better and spent then. Maybe another month and "oh my, Christmas is over" will cause MOCO to loosen up a bit.
