Tire pressure for Avon Venoms?
#11
What's the max pressure specified on the tire you're running? And, what brand/model of tire is it?

Careful hear, this is for maximum weight when at cold temperature. If you are talking about the Venom X, they like pressure and are resistant to cupping if you keep the tires up in the 40-42 psi range. Seems a bit high for those who are used to running Dunlops or Metzeler but this is the only way you will keep them from cupping and they will give you some solid miles too.

I am on my 3rd set of Avons (rear). The first one I ran 40 lbs as per the shop that sold me the tire and got right at 10K. J&P has a chart for Avons in their catalog and says 44 psi for solo 170 lb rider/w no luggage. and 46 psi for light 2 up. I am about 250 lbs and ran 45-46 psi in my 2nd Avon and got right at 14K on that tire. Avon used to have a pressure chart on their website, but I can't find it. 40 psi is recommended for the front tire.
