Default Has Mobil1 V-Twin made anyone else's motor noisy?

For my 1000 mile service, I put M1 VTwin in the motor. Since then, I hear more valvetrain noise. Definately not knocking/pinging, but sounds like noisy lifters or valves.

Anyone else notice this? It is a synthetic thing, or a M1 think, or is it all in my mind??

Many reports of noise with synthetics in bikes & cars. Normal. Syn3 was noisy in my TC88 and M-1 was quieter. But noise has little to do with engine wear. Dino oils are the most quiet.

FWIW: Amsoil 20w50 has the highest viscosity rating at 100*C of all the major synthetics.

My Dad hasn't been impressed with synthetic. His engine is louder and said it almost feels like it is running hotter.
From what I understand the louder part is normal.

My engine is a tad tickier with synthetic [mobil 1] oil . I read an article years ago in stock car racing magazine that the famed engine builder Smokey Yunick wrote about synthetic oils .He did alot of engine testing on race motors using all types of oils over the years, and one thing he noticed was that motors he ran that had synthetic oil in them had valve spring temps that were about 50 degrees hotter than engines he ran with regular dino racing oils.
Overall he liked synthetic oils, and he attributed the 50 degree higher valve spring temps to the fact that the synthetic oil flowed faster and did not stay on the valves longer than the dino oil did [ almost flowed too good ] thus not carrying away as much heat [ heat transfer ] from the valve spring....Kinda like running your car engine with no thermostat, the water flows through the radiator faster which prevents the radiator from pulling alot of the heat from the water and eventually your engine will actually run hotter than with a thermostat in alot of cases.
I believe what smokey Yunick ended up doing was that he added more oil passages or spray bars to help more oil stay on the valve springs which fixed this problem....His overall opinion about synthetic oils was very positive, especially how well the synthetic oil performed at very high heat conditions that stock car engines often perform in.

I've been using synthetic oil since the 1,000 mile service and I don't find the bike unusually noisy. Been using Hugo Chavez synthetic up until the 10,000 mile change, when my indy switched me to Mobil 1. No difference that I can tell between the H-C and Mobil flavors, either.
