Seems Harley made one big boast didn't it. Look at us. Mother always told me, pride comes before a fall.

I believe the only reason Harley is where it is now , is because of the people who love the lifestyle. The motorcycle. What it represents. Sure the *** hole dealers suck for the most part. I've never known a salesman that didn't lie so what do we expect from them. The good times are over for a while. We will see change.

I think at times Harley's corporate takes advantage of our loyalty. Plays upon it. One would think they would bring the price down for the loyal. But you walk into a store and the boutique has shirts made in china for $60.00. The buttons fall off easy. A t shirt that would cost $2.50 a walmart, cost $40.00 just because it has a harley emblem on it. Sure, we're getting tired of it. But bitching on here will do nothing.

Write Harley Davidson. Stand as one large voice and let them know how you feel. Stop buying the cloths and oils. Have your bike serviced elsewhere. You have great power as a people if you stand together. When their stocks drop to the bottom and sales fall way off, they will listen. These dealers know we love Harley. They use that. They treat us like stupid blind lambs. Guess how we stop that.

I would be willing to bet the harley craze will fall off soon. I can tell you Japan is listening and doing a dam good job of giving the Motorcycle community what they want. This year alone the metric market has brought out cruisers with engines that out perform Harley engines . No need for stages. No need for engine mods. They already have the power.

So in closing, Sit around Harley corporate. Enjoy your stock gains. All that greedy money you made. Your time is coming and its coming sooner than you think. Then you can take your overpriced merchandise and underpowered motorcycles and shove them up you're A S S.
My thoughts are...if Harley really cared, they're smart enough to come to the message boards (as one source) and find out what's going on in THEIR market. I know from other forums, snowmobiling in particular, Arctic Cat monitors the open forums closely, and even have company personnel get on and communicate with members. just my $.02

I had been trying to get the dealer I went to first to find me an 09 Ultra in the pearl white. All I got was lip service for weeks. I decided to do the leg work myself and found a dealer in Carson City NV that had the bike. They not only made the deal but gave me a better price. It's like anything else. The company you deal with is only as good as the people they put on the job.

I don't ask - I just go in and tell em - bought two bikes from the dealer that's three miles from my house in 6 years. No games, but I would NEVER go to a Dealer for ANY Service on ANY bike EVER!

I believe it would be wrong to assume they do not monitor the forums, I would think a company as large as HD would know what is said about them here or on other forums. It doesn't mean they care to do anything about it. Over the years I have gained enough knowledge to do most of my own maintainence, purchased the proper tools and service manuals to get it done. If i wear a HD tee shirt, it is one I have had for sometime. I did buy a new 9 Ultra a couple of months ago but got it at $2000 below MSRP. Would not have purchased it if not. It will never see the inside of a dealership service dept except for warranty work. If some of you guys check out the check off list for 1000k service and others, its a joke what a dealer does to a bike for the amount of money they charge. If you do the fluid and filter changes, belt tension, steering head lube, air filter cleaning, clutch adjust, there's not much left except bolt tightening. Anyone who lets them do it is getting fleeced big time. End of my rant!
