Default Heated Gear Connections?

Hi everyone! Thinking of taking the plunge with some heated gear. I'm about to purchase a Battery Tender and was wondering if the SAE plug on the pig tail connects with the more popular heated vest wiring?

Nope but you can hard wire them both to the battery. BTW, the instructions tell you to take the wire out the side but I ran mine up to the front of the seat. That way, when I'm not using my heated clothing I can just tuck the plug under the tip of the seat and it is out of sight.

Gerbing, Harley-Davidson and First gear use the coax connectors. But you can buy a coax to SAE jack like this one:

I understand you can get a conversion plug/jack, that can allow you to plug a coax heated gear unit, into a battery tender... but then you have to increase the ampage on the battery tender line.... I'm lazy... my battery tender line is secured under the seat, and just above the starter....while I've snaked the Gerbing coax up through the split in the seat, that my back rest goes through

I've got a heated vest from Aerostich with the SAE connection.

Gerbing offered me a choice of coax or SAE when I ordered one from them two years ago.

Gerbings sent me an extra wire so I made a temporary splice and connected the proper end to my Battery Tender wire. (Make sure polarity is correct.) Now the Battery Tender plugs right into the Gerbings pigtail which connects to my battery. Worked well for years, one connector for both.
