WE have 6 dealers in the Metro Chicago area and there are rumors that two in particular are in deep doo doo. I suspect there will be 3 or 4 in the next year. The dealer with the least debt and the best service dept will win.

Then again, I still believe next year this at this time the economy will be on the road back to being stronger then ever!!

Our 3 dealers here seem to be going strong, LVHD was hoppin last night.

 

I haven't heard of any BC dealers closing down.

Our nearest dealer is about 30 miles away and is just finishing a new dealership across the road from the existing old beater building.

My dealer is about 80 miles away and they are just finishing a big expansion. They seemed to be pounding out a lot of iron this fall. I think they were bringing in a lot of 08's from other dealers and I know they were bringing in loads of used bikes from the States when the low U$ helped get prices down. Now with higher U$ and higher prices across the board, I suspect sales will suck.

Both of these dealers have been around for a long time and I suspect will be quite able to survive the downturn.

 

I believe the dealers who price gouged during the years of waiting lists will be the first to close. Customers don't forget.
