Default Anyone have any recommendations on a GPS unit?

Want to get my husband a GPS for his Street Glide, prep for trip to Sturgis in 09. Any suggestions on which ones are the best but keeping an eye on cost. Don't need one that plays music. Thanks.

+1 on the Zumo. I have the 450 on my Ultra and love it and bought an extra mount to use in the car.

Any Garmin. If you don't want to pony up the bucks for a Zumo motorcycle model, any of the Nuvi's will work just fine. They aren't waterproof. Either don't use it in the rain or put a baggie over it.

I have a Nuvi 750 and love it.

Be prepared with your checkbook...GPS units made specifically for motorcyles are a lot more expensive. I have a TomTom Rider and I love it. Comes with a Cardo scala-rider® wireless Bluetooth® headset and Ram mounting hardware.

Quite a bit less expensive than the Zumo which is mounted by a suction cup I think.

You may be able to find it cheaper on a dealer's site.

If you can manage it, get the Zumo 550. It has all the bells/whistles. It is waterproof, comes with both bike and car mounts (the car mount is suction cup, the bike mount goes on the handlebars); it is bluetooth compatible, it has a card slot where you can plug in an sd card for whatever data/music you want. Trust me, I didn't think I'd bother with the music capability either; now I don't think I ever listen to anything else on my Electra Glide! Oh yeah, if you want to see his face light up like never before.....get the Zumo!

Costco.com has the Zumo 450 for $350.00 including shipping.

I have the Zumo 550, and absolutly will not travel without it. I can use it with winter gloves on, and screen is easy to see and read.
