Badinfluence: I have one of those panels. Even though they have a very low wattage and amperage they still charge all of the time, so keep a multi-meter around. I also bought one of the 45 watt panels and it comes with a regulator that does shut it off at full charge. I use it for my camper and in good light it'll kick out a good 5 amps.

Shiet! Didn't realize that. Those 45 watt ones recquire extra things to purchase according to the item description.

Thanks for the heads up on that solar panel.

I don't know why they say you need an inverter. You only need that if you want to run 110 volt stuff. The charge center, as they call it, is OK and has outputs to run lights straight from the panel (really kind of useless, since it has to be daylight, etc.) and some other plug-ins. What I didn't like about the "center" is that when it shuts down the charge when the battery is fully charged, it stays shut down. That isn't a problem when not having a drain on the battey. But, when there is a drain, one must disengage the panel from the battery and let the center reset. So, my dad gave me one he got from Camper's World that turns on and off. Overall, the 45 watt set works good. It's kind of funky that it's actually 3 panels that sit loosely in a metal frame, which means it's not real easy to move about by one's self. For it's price, though, I've been real happy it.

This thread has "Train Wreck" written all over it.

Won't you have to leave your bike outside to get the solar charger to work?

I like free solar power

I think free solar chargers are provided free by the government to save energy and reduce greenhouse gasses
