Default Best Boots: Pull-on or Lace-Ups?

Hey,

Looking to get some new boots. Love the Wesco, and a few others.

Have descided on a lug sole.

I have also read somehwhere that lace-ups are better for riding.

Any ideas?

I wear both. If I am doing more riding than walking I wear pull on. If I will be walking alot or on a trip I will wear lace ups, mainly for walking comfort. Lace ups support your ankles better and are probably the best bet for any rider, but not as convenient

Seems it would be a personal decision. Me, I never could get use to the pull-on style...always felt like socks falling down around my ankles.

I began wearing the Magnum boots (lace-up) many years ago.

Hope that helps!

I wear jump boots with a side zipper. Excellent support, wear and I work in them 8 hours a day on concrete. Imho, they can't be beat.

I prefer my lace-ups. No zippers, either. Lotsa Snow-Seal.

I use lace to toe Wesco fire stormers. A B%^ to break in but they fit like glove now.

Lots of traction and support. Also since I have 27.5 inseam the extra height from the working heels get me flat footed.

And last I have to say Wesco are the best.

Pull on boots will keep your foot dryer than laces if in rain. I prefer lace up though, much more comfortable.

Lace ups here .. 2 reasons :

1) More ankle support

2) If you go down the paramedics wont destroy your boots if they have to take them off , most you'll be out is a set of laces ..

Pull-ons keep water out better, they're better when it's wet and cold. Lace-ups work better in warm and dry weather, keep your feet cooler.
