I've been happy with my Double-H boots. Made in the USA and reasonably priced.

Laces up - I'll make up the extra 30 seconds it takes to lace them up as I accelerate out the driveway :-)

I've ridden in a few downpours in them, and had no water problems.

Milwaukee boots with laces and side zipper. Great for walking and riding. Been using Milwaukee for years and they are very affordable and wear like iron. Once you get the laces as tight as you want them you just use the side zipper after that and pull them on and off. They also have a strap over the laces to keep the them from getting caught on anything while riding.

I prefer lace up boots with the heavy lug soles. If you come to a bad stop, less likely to injure the ankle. At least that's my thinking.

HD Gregarious..Mine are steel toe but they come w/o. They're lace ups and have zipper on the inseam. Would be the best boots I've ever had if they were waterproof.Because of that I would say 8/10.

Not true, when I went down they cut off my boots, my chaps, my pants and my jacket.[/quote]

I'm sure like anything else , would depend on the situation ..

Indeed it is a lot of money. I ws looking at the 'Factory Seconds" which are about 249. Still not cheap.
