my daughter got her 06 sportster at the end of 06 for a discount plus 1000 in extras and a free rider class
i got my 07 ultra in march of 07 for msrp minus the cost of the rider class in the form of a gift card.
but since then i have gotten some discounts indirectly thru other discounts and things
might have been able to do better but i am not good at negotiating

Looks like I've got a good shot here. My Fatbob had people asking to pay over MSRP when it was waiting for my pickup...I had no chance to bargain there.
I figure if I buy a rental or left over 08, I ought to be able to pay way under MSRP. Denver has 6-8 dealers within 50 miles. When it comes down to it, I'll just call them all up and let them fight against each other.
Where can I find dealer cost for bikes?

One of the questions I always ask when someone talks discount is was any added back in? If you get $750.00 off of MSRP but if a bill of sale has shows $250.00 freight $250.00 prep and 250.00 dealer service you still paid MSRP.

That's what I did on both of my bikes - just a few thousand miles on them, a lot of garage time and chrome added and still 50-60% off of MSRP. If only I could find a used V-Rod Muscle around....

I just bought a 2009 Fatboy on Monday for $2009 under MSRP plus they waived the $490 setup charge. I'm pretty damn happy with the deal!!!

Greetings,
Back in May I got $1600 off on my Rocker C and discounted drag bars and braided cables along with free installation! Little did I know at the time it was because the dealer was about ready to be sold and was clearing out as much inventory as they could.

Got a mailer today that Zion HD (southern Utah) is selling "select" 2008 models at $2008 below MSRP. I didn't look that close so I'm not sure what models. I also paid $1800 under MSRP for my '07 Heritage in late July '07 (3 weeks after the '08s hit the floor).

I guess I paid below MSRP. I had a trade-in, so it's all just a numbers game. I got a non-Vivid Black Super Glide, with security, for $9000 + an '06 Vespa. Using HD's numbers: $12,344 + $330 freight + $345 security = $13,019. My dealer adds $300 for "set-up", bringing the total to $13,319. KBB.com puts the value of my trade at $2,995. So, I guess I got Pewter Pearl paint, freight, security and set-up for $4 less than MSRP on a Vivid Black.
