Gym/Tennis Shoes: while riding?
95% of the time I ride with my boots. The other day I rode with a pair of leather tennis shoes. I took a short ride in my neighborhood and I kept the tennis shoes on. Needless to say they weren't oil resistant but I know that this isn't the best choice to ride with. I understand having oil resistant shoes and above ankle protection is critical. I wanted to find out what opinions out there.

I ride to work daily in tennis shoes,. I'm not about to change from my boots at work, and not wearing my boots all day at work,. When I do rides, I where my boots,. Tennis shoes are better then sandles.. :-) I'm sure some will disagree with me..

Would never wear any type of soft soled shoe on a bike. I always wear boots. I buy comfortable boots that I can wear all day at work. Not a problem. But then, I figure it's just like choosing to wear or not wear a helmet, or any other safety gear - it's up to each individual rider to choose the level of protection and risk with which they are comfortable.

My house is on a dead end street. I run the bike up it & back to the garage in the cold weather, no snow, to keep it road ready. Thats the only time I wear anything but boots..

I do not Ride with Tennis Shoes on, I have Riding Boots for the Bike, I did forget one time though I had them on and went to gas up the Bike and come Home, I think they are unsafe for Riding because of the Shoe Laces getting caught on something, I wear Leather Slip on Boots .
