I've never done it, but a guy on our fire department put gas in the fire Engine. Had to have it drained and clean so they could fill it with diesel.

All the pumps around here have a single nozzle, and you have to push a button to select which octane you want. The diesel pumps don't have anything like that, so, I can't imagine how one would even come remotely close to doing something like that.

My book that came with the truck stated I could use kerosene in once
in a while with no harm.

Oh, and the handles on BOTH the diesel and kerosene pumps around me are YELLOW!

Yep. Filled my lawn tractor with diesel once. Grabbed the yellow can (for the farm equipment) and poured it right in. Talk about smoke and no power.

Fortunately it was easy to drain and throw away and refill with gas. It takes just once and never again.

Sometimes I go in 7-11 and get a big gulp cup and press a little soda from each kind, then I go out and fill up with a little 87oct, 89oct, 91oct followed by a shot of diesel.

But the important question here is........did he know where to put the gas cap while he was inadvertantly putting diesel in his Harley.

Don't feel lonely. A couple years ago on a ride up in the San Juan mtns of Colorado a buddy of mine did the same thing. Caught it in time, no harm to bike, but from that day he's had an official nickname= "DIESEL"

That's what you get for riding a Ninja!! (Just kiddin)

Last year I heard a story on the news about a gas station in Connecticut where a gas delivery truck inadvertedly filled one of their gas pump tanks with diesel and scores of cars got stuck blocks away from the station. The funny thing is the station didn't even sell diesel.

My neighbor(frickin idiot, nobody likes him) bought a Dodge truck with the Cummins,,,,,about 2-3 weeks after he purchased it, I saw him with a bunch of 5 gallon cans with a hose and siphoning out the fuel. Not sure how he got his truck home. Yup, gas in a diesel engine is not a good thing
