Does anyone know if the 2008 eg ultra police edition came with abs or was that an option?

ABS is now and was an option in 08. Extra cost $795.

After much research prior to buying my 09, I decided I didn't want the ABS. Has anyone else made a conscious decision to either get it or not, and why or why not?

I wanted abs on my new one after riding an abs equipped bike. My stealer told me that the only reason the bike was still there is because some other guy turned it down as soon as he found out it had abs. It had all the right stuff but he would not take it with the abs.

I bought an 09 with ABS and now wish I hadn't. Here's why....I wanted to change the handlebars from stock to a 2" pull back and the quote to change it all out is just under $1500.00. Because of the ABS option, there is more parts and labor involved. It's one of those things that I wish the dealer had told me about before I bought the bike.

I have locked the rear wheel before in light rain without going down (miracle) and don't ever want to do it again. The incident was at fairly low speed and it was always caused by cagers. I now have ABS and if it helps to prevent the rear wheel lock under these conditions it will be well worth it. The same reason I wear a helmet, gloves, boots any thing that will help, I was going to say gives you the edge but we all know you'll never have that.
