renew HOG membership?

I like the subscription to Hog Tales. I save the passt issues because of the travel articles. They give me ideas to where I would like to travel. I haven't had to use the roadside service, fortunately.

My member ship gets me 10% off on parts at my dealer. That easily pays for the membership dues and the people are all really laid back and cool to ride with. I would renew just for the discount, it basically pays the sales tax and I hates taxes. :-)

You are questioning what you get out of the National Membership. You get the HOG Tails, Rally info and freebees.
You can not join a local HOG Chapter without being a National member.

When I bought my Dyna, I was told the dealer paid for the first year of HOG and a year in the local chapter. When I contacted the local about meetings, all I got was a nose up in the air, and just because I bought a new bike, I didnt belong there.
I have since moved across town, got mama to buy her own, and the local chapter has welcomed both of us with open arms. Luckily, here in socal theres something going on almost every weekend. When theres an active membership of over 700 in the local, and attendances of 150+ at every meeting, you can have a heck of a lot of fun.
You get out what you put in, and then some. If you can get yourself hooked up with the right group, it makes it even better.

I have National and local membership. I also agonized over renewing because with our weak currency it is rather expensive, and I seldom go on the organized rides (we have a very active local chapter) I’m a bit of a loner biker.
But, I keep renewing because the people in our chapter really go out of their way to welcome people. They are good people, and deserve to be supported. I also really like the magazine.
Cheers
