Does the XIED come with a, "For Racing And/Or Off-Road Use Only...Not For Use On Motorcycles Used On Public Highways" disclaimer? If so, then you are probably correct. I would then say to the dealer, "Yeah, I only use it on my private property" and then trailer it in for warranty work. Again, the burden of proof would be on the dealer. While there might be verbiage in the current warranty voiding it if you use the bike for racing, there is nothing saying you can't just "use it around the yard." Ray

Your other option would be to instead install something like the Techlusion /RevTech DFO which comes with what is called "stealth technology". The only way to tell it's installed is by actually seeing it. Keep it well hidden and it will not turn up on any system scan, period. Ray

I don't see how, as I understand it all the XIED is is a resistor that tricks the computor to think more o2 is in the exhaust so it richens up the mixture. I'm sure that changes on it's own with altitude changes anyway, how can they prove where you were riding , in florida or colorado?

Takes all of 5 minutes to remove them, i would just un-plug em and take it in bone stock....

You are understanding the XIED's correctly.
