contacting h-d customer service is easily done. go to h-d web site and click the contact us header, then scroll down to the customer service #. a call from the customer will should deliver some specific answers. backorder status, etc....... remember, h-d screws the dealers harder than they screw riders.

My experience has been that they are pretty much equal opportunity screwers.............

There isn't a way to check the status of your motorcycle shipment by calling corporate, your dealer can check it, but the date will be an estimated date, dealers don't like to depend on estimates. The only way to contact HD is by the customer service phone number but they can only answer question pertaining to warranty or if you have an issue with a dealer.

I agree. What customer service? The Motor Company is good at taking our money. But they all but hide when you want to contact them. I've written the Motor Company in the past when my (then new) 2005 Ultra Classic had porus engine cases and leaked oil at 3K miles. They never responded. Fortunately, I worked with a dealer who took care of my bike promptly.

When your bike is ready the dealer will know and Im sure contact you asap if he wants paid. Even if you were able to get a date doesnt mean your dealer will have the bike by then. I know youre excited but HDs release times have gotten much faster than recent yrs. Even those dealers that quoted a date have often over estimated them.

Don't think any company can spend time dealing with issues that should be dealt with at the dealer level. Your dealer should be able to tell you everything you need to know, All ya'll talk about the lousy service or whatever but keep going back to the same people. There are 6 dealers within 50 miles of me and I wouldn't buy squat from four of them. The fifth is ok the 6th Racine HD is my home dealer and I won't do business elsewhere. They greet me by name, even if I can't remember their names, answer all my dumb *** questions, and have bent over backwards on both of my bike purchase and parts and service. I spread the word that they are great and let others know of my dissatifaction with other dealers. Only YOU can get rid of crappy dealers by not purchasing from them and letting others know of your experiences. Don't blame the motor company for the dealers failure. And no, I don't work for the motor company. If it is really that bad, try WRITING a letter, works mo better than trying a phone call or email, really gets the attention of a CEO. Done it a number of times and got great results.
