Any Info On Laughlin River Run I can Get??
Hi every one I have a trip I would like to take . Anyway...could some of you supply me with as much info as possible regarding the Laughlin River Run coming up in April 2009.
I know that's a ways away but I have been planing this and went on line just to find out that most of the hotels/motels are already sold out.
I would be flying out there and maybe renting a Harley for a few days. I don't want to travel that far and put my money down just to find out this event is not much and there is no place to stay etc. By the way when is the mid west rally being held next I might try to get to that. I would still have to fly and rent though because I just do not have the time to ride those distances
Any help at all would be grateful.

Google search will supply you as much info as there is. It is a BIG event and rooms are hard to get. Get one now if you can. Laughlin is 90 miles from Vegas, so you could stay there, pleny of people do and only go for 1-2 days. I will go for 1 day unless I stay with friends with a motorhome. Police are serious about keeping the peace, and will take no crap. Hope you can make it and enjoy the run.

Well Del Con is the promoter and according to their web site the room packages just went on sale Nov 5, so I would seriously doubt they are sold out. If you are planning to rent a harley in Vegas you will need to book one now as they will go fast.
The crowd this year was a little lighter and I will bet so will next years as the economy will keep some away. But it is a good time.
If I were suggesting a time frame of one week, so you can see the surrounding area, Kingman, Oatman, Las Vegas etc 2-3 days in Laughlin is more than enough.
Good Luck eh!

Rooms in Kingman are reasonable and it's a nice ride to Oatman on old 66. Lot of riding possible and it is warm well into the evening coming back from Laughlin. Sedona ,Jerome,Grand Canyon, Hoover dam all within reach from here.

Thank you!!!!
I did goggle and I did find some pretty good info but there is still nothing like the word of some one who knows and been there so thank you all. I was wondering about staying in Vegas and riding to the event if possible and it sounds very possible 90 miles would be a good ride. I forgot about the places to see near by too so thanks for that. I have no desire for real big crowds for a long time but this would be my first big event. I have no interest in Daytona but would like to attend Sturgis also at some time. I would also like some info on good area in Arizona to Rent and ride...I know it's on Goggle but again word of mouth is better from fellow forum members it should be anyway

If you can't rent a bike in Vegas, Grand Canyon Harley in Bellemont AZ rents them also. Bellemont is about 130 miles from Laughlin.

Hoover dam is a site to see.

Well, all the rooms are sold out because Dal-Con Productions buys them all and then re-sells you a room and a GREATLY inflated price. Two years ago, I bought rooms through Dal-Con, which by-the-way, is the ONLY you can get a room, for about $600 ea for the duration of the River Run. The crowd was huge, the vendors were many and the police presence was overwhelming. I had a good time but will not return. The average room rate at the casino's in Laughlin are $25 to $36 a nite except during the River Run. Then Dal-Con marks them up to $200 per nite. Best advice is to stay in Kingman or Vegas.

Now there's the kind off answer a follow forum member needs to see...thank you so much Bowtieman31. This does not sound like the greatest event to attend at all so I may just do the fly and ride from Vegas and tour around on my own unless some one is welling to hook up with me around that area at that time. April 19-25,2009. I would just love to spend less on the hotel/motel and more on the ride seeing sites because that's the best. I would love to ride some of route 66. Any ideas on this plan???

Where do you guys see that all rooms are sold out? Go to any of the Casino's site's on the river and they all show rooms avaliable, their rate's are just as inflated as Dal-Con's price's but they do show room's...hell last year there where still rooms avaliable right on the river during the event.
