Default Longer Handlebars for Electa Glide Classic??

I rode an 05 Electra Glide Classic yesterday. I liked it, but if I buy it (or one similar to it), I would like the handlebars to be a little longer so that I don't have to reach quite so far.

Approximately what would it cost to put a different set of handlebars on the bike (assuming that the dealer installs the new bars)?

Thanks.

Around $500.00. I want 'em for my UC too.

Agree with Tima. H-D has a set of bars for $49 and some change but you have to replace clutch and brake cables, extend wiring, etc which takes a lot of labor at $78 p/hr or more.

That all depends on how much longer you want.I have an 05 EGC also and put 13" apes from Cyclesmith. The bars and all stainless +6 cables and brake line will run about 500 just for parts. If you have the dealer do it,your looking at around 1300 buck.By the way, the 13" are great.Your hand are just above the fairing and very comfy on long trips.Did 1100 miles two weekends ago with no probs at all. Good luck on what you choose.Doing it yourself is not hard just time consuming.Get a service manual and go for it.

If you can install them yourself, it's pretty cheap. I bought a used HD pull back bar on E-bay for $14. Looked like new. I put them on myself and did not change out the cables as HD say's that you must. Been riding it that way for two years now and haven't had any problems. (I did reroute the clutch cable just a little bit)
