For those who buy (at least here in a "seasonal" state), HD doesn't start your 2 year warranty ticking until April 1st. You get from November through March as an "extended" warranty, if you will.

A few weeks ago, one of the dealers here had a factory incentive or Harley dollars that allowed them to knock off $2,000 from the new 2009 models. They were the only local dealer that particpated.

HD Incentive Programs
If I in fact am replying to the correct post about buying incentives.
I just wanted to put a few words in.
I went to my local dealer and fell in love with an 09 Heritage. (At 50 years old, its the perfect scooter for my wife and I.)
I have never bought a new HD, and so a little annoyed at how little negotiating power my wallet had. The big kick in the *** was the interest rate 9.9% for 60 months (or) 11..98 for 84 months. Especially with the way the economy is these days.
I have been told that Harley has never laid employees off before these hard times.
I don’t know how much pull HD has with the banks, but a great interest rate, especially with the hard time in front of us, would be the perfect incentive to get folks to spend. (Just what we desperately need folks to do now.)
It felt I was getting jerked around with the salesman when asking what the best he could do for me. He couldn’t stop with the $cent BS, on every detail.
I’m hoping they will put some sort of incentive to make it a bit easer for me and all the like.

I'd buy new if I could but there are some good deal on used bikes when you can't afford to buy new. Buying new you'll always know how it's been taken care of.
