Default Fallen Soldiers - Protest at Services - You can help

We've probably heard these stories on this post:

While attending the funeral of a Michigan soldier who died of combat wounds suffered in Iraq, protestors attempted to disrupt the funeral by shouting vile and harassing slogans at the family and other mourners.
Military families mourning the loss of a loved one killed in the defense of our nation deserve the right to say their final goodbyes in peace. America honors and respects our soldiers, and none more than those who die defending freedom and our nation.

The
petition and comments from citizens will be presented to the House
Veterans Affairs Committee at an April 6 hearing in Washington.

Petitions can be signed at:

I encourage you to forward this site to your friends and family and
ask them to help protect military families.

I'm a PGR member and signed the petition yesterday. I encourage everyone to do the same.

Does one have to be a resident of Michigan to sign? If not, I on my way to sign and comment.

Some people have no shame and abuse their right to free speech, which is not and never has been, absolute. There's a time and place for everything and the funeral of a fallen soldier is no place for protests.

Signed.

The story made me sick to my stomach. I am a military member and I can't imagine what my family would do if someone protested at my funeral. Needless to say, it would not be a pretty sight.

I just can't comprehend the idiocy of someone protesting at a funeral, and I will gladly sign the petition. But I can't swallow the concept that those soldiers are dying for their country; they are not, no more than my camrades were in VietNam. They are dying for a political and corporate agenda.
