Gentlemen...

Im still a noob so excuse the ignorance.. I was in my local dealer the other day and they had some leather jackets on sale... They seemed like VERY nice quality but Im sure the price was jacked up just because it said Harley on it but where else, what brands, do you guys recommend outside of the harley brand?

Thanks

Scott

Foxcreek leather, made in the USA and worth the price.

If you want a Harley jacket, you can get it for 20% off online at Chicago HD.

+1 on that one and a BIG Amen thrown in on top of it!

FCL is TOP of the line stuff and the best I've ever laid eyes on. HEAVY duty leather yet soft and supple. My jacket (with nothing in the pockets) weighs 9.5 pounds. I've had it since July and have worn it EVERY DAY since from temps in the 90's to lows of around 40 so far this Fall. With the Thinsulate liner zipped in it's been warm and comfortable. In hot weather it vents surprisingly well.

I can't say enough good about FCL. Mine is the Classic I.

I pissed some other guy off by talking about Langlitz. They're big $$. Don't have one, probably never will but they're supposed to be nice and guaranteed for life. http://www.langlitz.com/ I'll **** him off again....

I'm notoriously cheap, so I like www.leatherup.com Just be sure to order one size up.

I've got chaps and a jacket from Jafrum and they seem to be good quality. Very affordable, too.

Vanson makes quality leather and textile jackets. Another place to get good riding gear is www.newenough.com. If this is going to be your only jacket, I would recommend a textile jacket that has a gore tex type treatment so that you don't have to carry a rainsuit with you.
