They make a lot of money from people not doing their own work. I do most of my own--the price is right--the mechanic is easy to talk to---the work is done right everytime. If it goes to the shop it is over special tools or lack of time. I also have a couple of good shops locally that don't jerk you around.

OMG, does anyone actually ever go to a Harley dealer any more? Even to buy parts?

i bought brake pads from them the other day.... most over priced things in the world, cost me 125 for front and rear

No kidding... I did a top end complete gasket replace on an 98 Dyna yesterday fer a guys OL who blew a rear head gasket.. Local Dealer wanted $700 for the Job.. He and I must be the only poor Folks out there who ride Harleys.. I wouldn't be able to afford that... and neither could he..
