Leather pants, wear them over jeans or not necessary? I know with chaps you can just throw them over your jeans but when your done riding you can take them off and throw them in your tour packs (if you have them) so ya dont sweat to death.. But the leather pants?

was a serious question, do you wear them over your jeans or not necessary?
Buy them one size larger than your regular jeans, make sure you get the side zippers, and wear them over your jeans, just like you would with chaps.

Unlike chaps, your A$$ is now protected both from sliding down the highway and the cold coming in through your crotch

Chaps have never made any sense to me when for the same price you can have full coverage. Check www.leatherup.com. They advertise on this site.

This gets my vote, because buying chaps mail order and expecting a fit? is ridiculous.

Go somewhere that you can try them on, don't worry about the waistband, it's very adjustable, worry about the fit on your legs.

Please feel free to write the book telling us what to wear, how to wear it, and what acceptable accessories are for our motorcycles, and be sure to tell us what year/model and make is acceptable. We wouldn't want to offend anyone.

Agreed. I wear a size 34 waist pants. I have been playing hockey since I was 2, as a result my thighs are 23" around. Chaps for me are size 6XL!!!! Anything smaller and I cant zip them around my hamhock thighs. Its either 6XL and adjust the waistband, or custom made for me.

Dude do whatever.

Nothing wrong with Sporties, or tassle (even if they do belong on nipples IMO).
For that matter, if you want to wear chaps, go ahead. I carry them when I travel They are an easy way to get warm if the weather dips into the 40s, and you can take them off when you are done with the ride (I guess you can wear them around too, but not for me, thanks).

Figure if the guy can make the "fingerless gloves" crack, he can man up and handle a little rib about the tassles and the sportie.

No blood, no foul.

so chill out, have a beer.

You can buy & wear leather overpants. A bit more protection than chaps, but not quite as easy to throw on and off.
