Get chaps with a zip out insulated winter lining if you plan to ride in the winter. As for fit get them a little long so they lay on your boots when riding and allow room for comfortable movement for thicker jeans or long johns. I bought a quality pair for about $200 and like them a lot more than my $50 cheapos.

I got mine at a western wear store for about 110 bucks. Zip out insulated lining and good quality. They are very long so that you can trim them to fit. You might want to try a place like that, it's a lot cheaper than a dealership and still good stuff.

And don't let the resident fashion gestapo here get to you....let's put it this way.....I'm still riding, azzlezz chaps and all. All except one of the other guys at work parked their bikes a couple of weeks ago and look at me like I've got three heads. And it's only occasionally going down to about 30 degrees for cripes sake! Makes one wonder who really should have a the rainbow sticker.

Chaps are for riding horses. Get leather pants-Langlitz or others.

I have the right to make fun of chaps because I sport a pair sometimes. In fact, the weather is getting pretty cold here and I'm about to dig them out again.

Yes, that's overkill!!! A person can get the same quality chaps for 1/8 of 850 smackers...Damn..I think I can buy a whole cow for that price...
I'm just saying that just because something costs more don't mean it's better. $850 for chaps is just ridiculous.Like I said earlier, my chaps protected me just fine...no road rash..not a scratch.

I like Fox Creek stuff myself, but for unlined riding chaps it's hard to beat the cheaper Leatherup, Jamin leather, etc...

*Hey Sr. Chief, you're still angry over that Village People song "In The Navy" -- we get it.
