high beam and PIAA spot lights all of the time. I've never had a car flash brights at me at night so it must not bother them.

 

I personally do not know if the high beam is any more noticeable during the daytime than the low beam so I am reading other members informative posts. I do not know how a halogen bulb in a daytime setting would be too annoying? So I am reading to learn.

I bought 3” headlight lamps (the silver things with the glass), made fork clamps for my inverted fork, than installed the 3” buckets. I installed a pair of 35 watt halogen bulbs and bought a headlight modulator to modulate both 3” headlights at the same time. I have a 5 ¾” headlight bucket with a HID Hi/Lo in the center. The light output of the halogens does not illuminate during the daytime (naturally) and makes no difference during the night next to the HID. The HID washes out/over powers the light output from the halogen bulbs.

I do not usually drive a car unless I am forced to, that is why the Hi beam thing is something I am unsure of during the day. I can give you my evaluation of the side headlights as I have been using them for a few months.

• On several occasions a few drivers have pointed out that my lights are modulating, usually at stop lights. I guess they notice I am there.
• When driving it seams the drivers who run me off the road (Ft. Lauderdale) or turn into my lane will now say they are sorry. Before, without modulating headlamps, they would not ay anything (guess it is their right to run motorcycles off the road). Please take into consideration my geographic location where there are many immigrants who just learned how to drive as they were riding a bicycle 6 months ago, selfish people on cell phones or not, and the senior citizens who come here to retire.
• I try everything I can within the law to not get hit as a motorcycle will always loose. I guess you can try your best and hope.
• On a side note, during the night the 3 sets of lights increase frontal signature recognition as members can tell you who have passing lamps (which is not the subject of the thread).

 

I usually run the lows and the spots during the day.

 

It really, really annoys me.... When this happens I throw my high beams, fog lights and anything else I can come up with back at 'em..

 

High beam all the time. Can't hurt!

 

I use low beams except at night when the road is mine. If the law didn't require daytime lights I wouldn't bother turning them on. Most drivers don't see you anyway. I'm not against lights for daytime riding just don't feel it matters much. I drove Firetrucks for years. I was always amazed at how many people would pull out in front of a pumper truck running red lights and siren. Ask anyone who has ever driven an emergency vehicle. Ask anyone who has ever driven a freight train.

 

I ride with my high bean and spots during the day.
Guys that I ride with say im very visible.

I don't care if it annoys someone, at least they see me

 

High beam all the time, but I try to avoid riding after dark.

 

I run the low beam and driving lights on my Ultra. I use the high beam during the day on my BMW.

 

Always run high beam during the day.
