softail deluxe vs. roadking

RE: softail deluxe vs. roadking
At your height I understand how the Softail Deluxe would feel right, and the RK may sit a little too high for you. So, have you considered a Heritage Softail Classic? Seat height close to the Deluxe but ready with bags & 2 up riding like the RK. Pull the windshield & bags from the Heritage, just like you can with the RK, and you have a cool around town cruiser.
Oh well, I have a WG, what do I know? Good luck.

My .02 worth......
We have both. I went with the RK Classic and the wife has the Deluxe. She loves it and is fairly close to your height. But I agree with the comments in regards to what type of riding you will be doing. When we went on a road trip that should've been about 2 hours it took longer due to the stopping we did. I guess the seat on the Deluxe wasn't as comfortable as the Sundowner I have on the RK. I could've gone the whole ride and then some. In regards to the storage capacity of the Deluxe....I bought her some large saddlebags from Fox Creek Leather and attached them using the EZ Bracket system. I was able to use large bags since I installed the V&H exahust which lowered the pipes from their stock position. At first she didn't want bags since it would change the look of the bike.........they have never come off since they've been installed. She uses them all the time. Personally I like the RK since it fits me better and matches my size.

IMHO - the Deluxe is the sexier of the two ... If I was doing short cruises and lots of around town (and showing off), I'd get the Deluxe ...
Most of my riding is with my wife (passenger) and we plan on taking some overnighters ... we love our RKC.

If you are going to need bags then I would go for the RK. I think deluxe is a beautiful bike as is. Personally I think bags do not belong on Deluxe or Fat Boy for that matter, it ruins the look of the bike.

RE: softail deluxe vs. roadking
me and my dad have come up with the idea of putting the black and white paint job of the deluxe on a road king because that particular paint job just looks sweet and road kings are great all around
