Can't you look somebody's email address up who is in the military if you are in the military? I thought there was some database you could check somebody out at. I know my buddy in the AF does that on base. Is that limited to a base?

I think it is limited by service. At least that is the way it is in the Coast Guard.
I googled his name... there was a Michael Adams in the Air Force back in the day. He was an astronaut who died in a test flight. There is another Michael Adams that popped up all over the place... guess what he is on there for... a known CraigsList Scammer... go figure.

Just type or copy his name and the air force unit into your browser and you find all the stuff he is selling.

There was also a Michael Adams who worked as a Special Agent in the AFOSI and currently lives in Palmdale, CA. But, it appears that he got out of the USAF in 1984, as a Captain, and now works as housing manager...

that said, after going through Google a bit, it's definitely a scam. It looks like he uses the name "Tom Douglas" as well.

lame.

Scammer - Craig's List

Isn't that repetitiously redundant?

these ads are all over craigs list. if I am bored and not busy, i will often play a little email tag with them asking all kinds of dumb questions. When I get tired i just tell them to F. off.

i know, i know, but sometimes i am really bored.

Similar wording to an ad in a BC Buy & Sell - selling an 06 Softail Heritage with low miles for $5000. Emailed the guy expecting him to come back and tell me it was a typo. He proceeds to tell me he was transferred from Vancouver to the UK but the UK wouldn't let the bike in. He would even pay to have it shipped back here. Had the same ebay motors stuff - I kept asking questions and the storey started changing. His english deteriroated also - it kind of had a Ugandan accent.

These guys keep placing these ads so some suckers must be taking the hook.
