how about buying him the tire while he working or something so he has it when he gets home...... and a gift certificate to get it put on if you or he cant put it on yourself.?
If he were my son I would walk out there stick the tire and then tell him "you just got around to it" and walk away.
My favorite answer. That would be my exact response. If I knew he didn't have the cash to cover it, I'd add in sticking the cash in his hand as I walked past.
You know, a person would think that a twenty-something year old male would have a bit more "smarts"!............. I suppose NOT!
Knowing many 20-something year old males, I would never think that. Perhaps I am just getting old, but it sure seems we have raised the most lazy, unmotivated, dispassionate, self centered, moronic generation in all of human history. There are, of course, exceptions, but, as a group, these traits seem all too common.
If it was my son that rear wheel would be leaning against the fence and the money would be loaned if necessary, but that tire would be off that bike. I've been riding on a plugged tire for quite a while now but only because theres a whole lot of tread still on there.
